Preventive health services

Check your Blood pressure at least every 2 years starting at age 18. It’s important to check your blood pressure often, especially if you are over age 40.

Check your Blood sugar level to know your Diabetes status.

If Diabetic than check the HbA1C test twice a year if blood sugar level in control, or as often as four times a year until blood glucose levels reaches recommended levels.

Check your Cholesterol every 5 years, and more often if age >35 or under age 35 who have heart disease or risk factors for heart disease.

Everyone ages 15 to 65 needs to get tested for HIV at least once. All pregnant women also need to get tested. Get tested for HIV at least once a year if you:

  • Have sex without a condom with someone who may have HIV
  • Have sex with men who have sex with men
  • Use drugs with needles
  • Have a sex partner who is HIV-positive (has HIV)
  • Have had a sexually transmitted disease (STD)

PSA -Starting at age 50, men should talk to a doctor about the pros and cons of testing so they can decide if testing is the right choice for them.

Preventive health services for women

Routine basis for Pregnant women –
It’s important to take care of yourself and your baby during pregnancy. To keep you and your baby healthy:–Blood type and Rh factor, Hepatitis B,HIV,VDRL,Complete blood count ,urine routine.

Cervical Cancer screening –
If you are age 21 to 29, get a Pap test every 3 years. If you are age 30 to 65, get screened every 3 to 5 years.

Breast cancer screening –
Clinical breast exam (CBE) about every 3 years for women in their 20s and 30s and every year for women 40 and over. Doing a breast exam (feeling your breasts and under your arms for lumps or other changes) .Mammograms can help find breast cancer early. You have a better chance of surviving breast cancer if it’s found and treated early
